Provably fair: checking a Hellcase result

Provably fair proves a result was not changed after the fact. It does not prove the odds are good.

What a provably fair check can tell you

A fairness check compares the recorded information for an opening with the verification method described by the platform. Keep the data for the exact opening being checked, including the seed information and opening counter the verifier asks for. Comparing unrelated rounds does not test the result you actually received.

Provably fair: checking a Hellcase result

A matching verification and attractive case odds are different questions. Verification checks consistency with the described process; it does not make rare items likely or change the price of a case. Read the item probabilities separately and use the platform’s own verification instructions for the calculation.

How to verify

  1. Note the server seed hash before opening.
  2. Change the seed after a few openings so the old one is revealed.
  3. Hash the revealed seed and compare it with the hash you noted.
  4. Recompute a roll from the seeds and nonce.

Questions and answers

Do I need to check every opening?

No. Checking a few random openings after a seed change is enough: the site cannot know which ones you will check.
